Residents of Oak Creek Canyon are back in their homes after another fire forced an evacuation yesterday. The Junipine Fire is just south of Junipine Resort in Oak Creek Canyon and has burned about 12 acres.
Residents were evacuated during firefighting efforts yesterday, but the evacuation order was lifted at 9:00 p.m. The Red Cross shelter at Sinagua Middle School was reopened to assist displaced people.
Crews estimate the fire will be contained today.
