Members of this northern Arizona community are encouraged to bring their documents to the Credit Union’s Flagstaff Highway 89 branch on Tuesday, July 10, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.
The event is free of charge and helps raise awareness about the importance of shredding personal documents to protect against identity theft.
“Green initiatives, like the Shred-A-Thon, are part of our sustainable model and help meet the need for community outreach programs in the local Arizona communities the Credit Union serves,” said David E. Doss, President/CEO of Arizona State Credit Union. “Our Flagstaff Beaver Street branch shredded 2,186 pounds of documents at the first Flagstaff event in June, which saved 10 trees. This is a sizeable contribution and I’m confident that Flagstaff residents will continue to add to this total at the second event.”
Important documents to bring to the Shred-A-Thon include bank statements, tax returns, medical bills, credit card statements and other personal documents. Community members will also be placed into a drawing to win an Apple iPad when they apply for a Visa Platinum Credit Card.
Shred-A-Thons will be hosted at northern Arizona Credit Union branches from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. They are free and open to all members of the community, with a limit of five boxes per person. Below is a complete list of remaining branches and dates:
