HealthCheck Programs Manager, Elizabeth Markona, commented, “It is nice to see a group of students supporting their community like this! The support means a great deal to the Well Woman HealthCheck Program and to their patients, especially during this time of great need. With this donation, the program is able to assist even more Flagstaff women.”
The Well Woman HealthCheck Program at North Country HealthCare educates women throughout northern Arizona and provides free clinical breast exams, mammograms and Pap tests for uninsured women locally. Additionally, enrolled women who receive abnormal screening results are provided with diagnostic services and ultimately linked to free or reduced cost cancer treatment if needed. The program seeks to ensure that all women have access to quality, timely breast cancer screening and follow-up.
Most uninsured women age 40 and older are eligible for the program. This program is funded by Arizona Department of Health Services, the Avon Breast Health Outreach Program, and the Phoenix Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Don’t wait–Call today to schedule your appointment: 928-213-6104.
