Foot Lumps and Bumps
"I've got this lump on my foot – what could it be?" As a foot and ankle surgeon, I am asked this question quite frequently. I always explain that because bumps on feet can signal both serious and non-serious conditions, it is always best to have all lumps and bumps properly examined by a foot and ankle surgeon. Bumps on feet can vary in size, from that of a pea to the size of a golf ball. They can also vary in location, from the arch of the foot to the ankle area or elsewhere. They may or … [Read more...] about Foot Lumps and Bumps

The answer is “Yes.” You need a primary care doctor. I get it. You are young and healthy and never have any problems. Flagstaff Appraiser Offering Lifetime of Market Knowledge
Similar to many longtime Flagstaff residents, Ray Henry came to Flagstaff to attend Northern Arizona University and decided to stay. That was 50 years ago, in 1968, and he has never regretted the decision. Shortly after finishing his studies, Henry earned his real estate sales license, following up with his real estate broker’s license a decade later. “My father was a real estate appraiser in Prescott,” he said. “So, while I was working at a lumber mill, I started studying real estate and … [Read more...] about Flagstaff Appraiser Offering Lifetime of Market Knowledge
Massage Helping to Keep New Year’s Resolutions
We know how it goes: Before the boot hits the pavement at the Whiskey Row Boot Drop in downtown Prescott and the Pinecone lowers in Flagstaff, each of us will have pondered and made one or more New Year’s resolutions. The beginning of a new year is the most popular time of the year for people to hit the reset button. The new year offers an opportunity to review the past year and determine what we want to change in the coming year. We promise ourselves or resolve to do or not do something … [Read more...] about Massage Helping to Keep New Year’s Resolutions
Knowing Which to Visit: ER, Urgent Care or Orthopaedic Walk-in
Injuries and illnesses occur when you least expect them. Nearby urgent care clinics can give people the medical care they need, usually at a fraction of the cost or time of an emergency room (ER). They provide care for a wide variety of sicknesses, diseases and other conditions. There are also specialty walk-in clinics that treat musculoskeletal injuries such as fractures, sprains and strains from falls and impact accidents. These are orthopaedic walk-in care clinics. Q: What are the … [Read more...] about Knowing Which to Visit: ER, Urgent Care or Orthopaedic Walk-in
Understanding Musical Ear Syndrome
Musical ear syndrome, also known as musical hallucinations or auditory hallucination, is more common than you might believe. It can cause enormous stress on the individual experiencing it. It is more likely to be a song or music without words but a few people have reported to me that they hear songs with words. I find in my practice that people are embarrassed to tell anyone about what they hear and are secretly afraid that they are going crazy. One source estimates that auditory … [Read more...] about Understanding Musical Ear Syndrome
New Year, New Life After the Fall
Caleb Cordasco sits inconspicuously in the corner of downtown Flagstaff’s Late for the Train coffee house, confident, comfortable, quiet. Between sips from his mug, the 27-year-old responds to questions with the introspection and reflection of a much older person addressing far deeper concerns. His steady brown eyes reveal a profound sense of knowing from a young man who has journeyed to the outer limits of mental, emotional and physical pain, and is still standing. And that, by all accounts, … [Read more...] about New Year, New Life After the Fall
