Repairs Needed After Rainfall at Canyon
Recent heavy monsoonal rainfall caused damage to portions of the South Kaibab Trail approximately one-half mile below Cedar Ridge closing the trail to livestock use. Trail crews have completed work to remove debris from the trail. The trail is now open to livestock as well as foot traffic. Monsoonal rainfall also caused damage to a section of the North Kaibab Trail below Supai Tunnel. Expect Delays on I-17 Northbound Near Flagstaff
On Thursday, Sept. 12, lane restrictions will be required as the traffic control equipment is installed and testing completed. Starting at 6 a.m., the northbound left lane will be closed. From 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., the right lane will be closed. At 9 a.m., all northbound lanes of I-17 will be closed to facilitate installation of the center section of the sign. County Seeking Input on Zoning Changes
The Coconino County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing Sept. 17 to gather feedback from residents on proposed amendments to the County's zoning ordinances. U.S. Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick, D-Ariz., is pleased to announce two major grants for District One: a $2 million transportation grant for the Flagstaff Pulliam Airport, and a nearly $250,000 science grant for Northern Arizona University.
