North Country HealthCare has received notice of an early holiday gift. Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) has announced that it will fund North Country’s family medicine residency program with a $5.4 million grant over four years. Four new doctors are expected to begin training in July 2020. HRSA’s funding will come from its Teaching Health Center Graduate Medical Education (THCGME) Program. Local Walmart Store Feeds Food Banks
The Westside Walmart in Flagstaff is serious about fighting hunger in its neighborhood. The store and its associates are just finishing up a five-month campaign, “Fight Hunger Spark Change,” and were able to provide 35,994 meals for the local food banks, according to Jennifer Foster, the store’s manager.
