NAU Joining DCT as Partner
Officials from Lowell Observatory and Northern Arizona University (NAU) signed paperwork Tuesday formalizing NAU as a Discovery Channel Telescope (DCT) partner. NAU joins current DCT science partners Boston University, the University of Maryland and the University of Toledo. A Very Merry Christmas in Yarnell
Some residents of Yarnell, which was devastated earlier this year by the deathly fire through the area, are in their rebuilt homes in time for the holidays. Some certificates of occupancy are expected today, allowing homeowners to move in to the homes. Flagstaff Family Food Center and Northern Arizona Food Bank, two non-profit agencies, have merged and will now operate under one umbrella and one name. City Acquiring Observatory Mesa
At an auction held this afternoon on the steps of the Coconino County Courthouse, the City of Flagstaff successfully bid on the acquisition of Observatory Mesa, located in west Flagstaff. The minimum bid started at the appraised value amount of $11.6 million.
