Economy Could See Boost from Potash Mining
During the 1960s and 1970s, two companies called Arkla Exploration and the Duval Corporation explored Northern Arizona for potash in the Holbrook Basin by drilling over 100 holes. The Holbrook Salt Basin is a project area that rests approximately seven miles east of Holbrook, Arizona. City Building New Water Tank in West Flagstaff
The City of Flagstaff is currently preparing to build a new water tank at the Railroad Springs tank site this summer. The tank will be an addition to the existing one, as a requirement for the Presidio in the Pines development on the west side of town. Mayoral Race Narrowed to Nabours and White
The unofficial results of Flagstaff's primary election have Gerry Nabours and Al White as the winners with 38.44 and 35 percent of the vote respectively. Paul Kulpinski earned 20.31 percent of the vote and Paul Reilly 6 percent. The General Election is May 15th and will be a vote by mail election. Chase Awards $40,000 to NAU
The NAU Franke College of Business was recently awarded a $40,000 check to help promote economic development for small businesses within the Flagstaff community. Bear Triplets Born in Northern Arizona
Bearizona Wildlife Park Chief Executive Officer, Sean Casey, announced the arrival of triplet bear cubs, which were born this January at the Williams, Arizona Wildlife Park. The cubs range in color from cinnamon, to dark chocolate brown. In the wild, eastern black bears are typically very dark black.
