AZ Snowbowl Wins Another National Safety Award
The National Ski Area Association (NSAA) announced that the Arizona Snowbowl has won the prestigious "Best Overall Safety Award" for ski areas across the nation with less than 250,000 skier visits. This is the third consecutive year the resort has won this award. Additionally, Snowbowl participated in NSAA's 12th Annual National Safety Week, which was held January 15 - 23, 2011. Shuttle Resuming at Canyon
The National Park Service (NPS) will again offer shuttle bus service between Grand Canyon National Park and the neighboring town of Tusayan. Flagstaff tourism officials are joining state officials in recognizing the value of the tourism officials in Arizona. Jacki Lenners tells FBN there are activites the entire week. Grand Canyon North Rim Reopening May 15
The Arizona Department of Transportation will open Highway 67 to the North Rim of Grand Canyon National Park on Sunday, May 15 by 7:00 a.m.; and Grand Canyon Lodge North Rim, a Forever Resorts property, and Grand Canyon Trail Rides will commence their 2011 seasonal operations. Arizona Snowbowl is closed for the ski season which lasted into April. There were 102 ski days and 266 inches of snow. During the recent closing ceremonies at the resort near Flagstaff, skiers and snowboarders celebrated the long season. “It has turned out to be a surprise season.
