On Sept. 19, at Flagstaff Athletic Club East, the annual FAC Sprint Triathlon and Duathlon will take place with Ken Kotalik as the race director. FAC and Kotalik plan to make the event more inclusive with a Triathlon, Duathlon, 5K Run/Walk and a Kids Duathlon.
This family friendly, low-stress event will start and end at the Flagstaff Athletic Club East outdoor pool area and feature professional electronic chip timing by RUN Flagstaff and online registration by Chronotrack.
The race honors the memory of local Flagstaff resident, triathlete and race director, Robert Tucker, who was taken too early in life by cancer. FAC representatives say Tucker was an integral part of this local event for many years. In addition, part of the proceeds will be donated to Flagstaff Shelter Services, a non-profit homeless shelter in east Flagstaff. FBN
