U.S. Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick, D-Ariz., recently visited U.S. troops in Afghanistan and surrounding regions as part of her leadership role as ranking member of the Veterans’ Affairs Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations.
Kirkpatrick traveled to the region in late January with a small, bipartisan delegation of senators and congressmembers who hold leadership roles on key House and Senate committees including Armed Services and Veterans’ Affairs.
During the visit, the congresswoman received briefings from U.S. commanders, toured military facilities and met personally with troops, including several from Arizona.
