Thunder and lightening have accompanied the start of the region's winter storm. The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning in effect until 8:00 p.m. Sunday. There is a chance for between 10 and 24 inches of snow in the greater Flagstaff area. Restrictions Affecting Forest Off-Roading
Plans to close more than 3,000 miles of Coconino National forestland to motorized vehicles is raising the ire of many groups. The closure means nearly half of the rural forest roads currently open will close in February.
